After years of running stationary screening camps, NAF introduced a new concept—the Breast Cancer Awareness Marathon Walk.

This approach reached thousands of residents as the walk passed through populated areas, creating visibility and sparking countywide conversations about breast cancer.

The marathon drew attention from across Kenya. NAF’s CEO received calls from Kilifi, Bungoma, and Nyamira counties, requesting similar events. The increased visibility also led to a rise in women seeking screening at Mawepi Medical Center.

Due to overwhelming public demand, NAF committed to organizing another walk the following year.
